Who We Are

The Student Disability Center provides support for students with both permanent and temporary disabilities. This can encompass physical disabilities,  chronic illness/health conditions, mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and temporary disabilities.

Mission

The SDC engages collaboratively with all members of the university community to foster our land-grant mission, ensuring equal access for all disabled students throughout CSU’s learning environment. We welcome all who want to connect with us on the accommodation process, disability education, proactive support, and programming for our disability community.

Community Values

The Student Disability Center value safety, joy, and community care for all students. We seek to foster a shared community that is open and welcoming to all and rooted in CSU’s land-grant mission and university policy. We all have the right to remind each other of these Community Values and to advocate for our personal boundaries.

  1. We respect and support the thriving of people across all identities and our right to show up joyfully, authentically, and unapologetically.
  2. We welcome and learn about all identities with openness, respect, and curiosity.
  3. We are adaptable to the different needs and uses of this space, welcoming new people and making room as they join.
  4. We honor the boundaries set by those around us and treat others as they want to be treated.
  5. We value and seek consent related to physical touch, volume, space, and privacy.
  6. We view feedback and conflict as generative and aim to learn from it.
  7. We work together to create accessibility, keep our spaces clean, and be responsive to sensory needs and allergies.
